Finland, the EU and the Global South in Trump’s World

In August, the Nordic South Forum organized an event at the Turku Europe Forum called ”Finland, the EU and the Global South in Trump’s World” that attracted a lot of interest.

Trump’s ”America First” policy has dramatically affected the United States’ international development cooperation, with USAID’s operations effectively being terminated on July 1, 2025. In this situation, Finland and the EU must reassess their economic, political and cultural relationship with the Global South. What is the line of Finland and the EU in relation to the Global South? 🌍

The opening speech of the Global South panel was given by MP Pekka Haavisto.
